Quan Lan Communal House Festival is the
village-wide celebration for the inhabitants of the island community of
Quan Lan in the central area of the ancient Van Don commercial port in
northern Quang Ninh province.
"Quan Ho" is a special folk song of
Kinh Bac Province, now called Bac Ninh Province. Lim is the simple name
of Lung Giang Commune of Tien Son District in Bac Ninh Province. The
village is located 18 km from Hanoi. The festival takes place on Lim
Hill where the Lim Pagoda is located. This pagoda is where Mr. Hieu
Trung Hau, the man who invented Quan Ho, is worshipped.
The Do Temple is a beautiful example of
religious architecture located in the Dinh Bang village, Tu Son
district, Bac Ninh province, about 18 kilometres from Hanoi. Its
festival starts every year on the 15th of the third lunar month to
commemorate achievements of the eight emperors of the Ly Dynasty.
Time: From the 15th to the 16th day of the first lunar month.
Place: Co Me Village, Vu Ninh Commune, Bac Ninh City, Bac Ninh Province.
Objects of worship: Ba Chua Kho (The Queen of Stock) and four gods: Thien phu, Dia phu, Thuy phu and Nhac phu.
Characteristics:
Incense offering ceremony, custom of borrowing money from her (only
symbolizing) to pray for property and good luck.
